It’s downwind all the way to Jacaré!”  The ideal  port for cruising yachts to relax, recover, replenish and repair.  Anchorage in the river is safe and free!   There is a yacht club and a choice of  marinas where you can enjoy the convenience of a  dock if that is your style.  Brian Stevens  offers a dinghy dock and on shore services for repairs and wi-fi.  He is the HLR of the Cruising Association and, having lived here for more than forty  five years, is well acquainted with the local facilities.

Jacare Marine is the boat builder and yacht haven started by Brian in the mid-eighties .

Over the years it has built more than a hundred boats and received yachts from Japan to the USA,  the long way round

Arrival.

Jacaré is four miles up the Paraiba River from the port of Cabedelo which is buoyed for commercial ships and can be entered at night. If you do so,  you might prefer to anchor in protected water inside the entry channel and to the North of the port before coming up the river in daylight, which we recommend. There is a car ferry crossing the river in front of the port buildings and wharf.
